determined that he should travel to the mental hospital in Florida and get the answers to the numerous questions that arose since speaking with Gran. Gran reappeared after her sudden departure following the confusing conversation. She did nothing to clarify the situation. She simply acknowledged that perhaps it was best if Seven drove across the state line and sought out the truth himself. She had hurt her only remaining family member and the old woman did not see any way at hand to make the situation better. Patricia Flowers rarely and infrequently conceded guilt or fault, but she now knew that her husband was correct in his campaign to tell Seven the truth about his father. She had lied to him his entire life and she knew that would be a difficult obstacle for Seven to overcome. Somewhat more disturbing to her was that the last thing the boy knew of his grandfather, his idol, his hero, was that he had participated in the lie.
