above her left breast and an ID badge hanging from her neck. The badge displayed a picture that failed to capture the subtleness of her perfect face. Below the picture was the name Tiffany, printed in large bold type. The alligator on her chest represented her allegiance to the Florida Gators and the university they represented. Seven was an alumnus of the Gators’ archrival.

He had not expected to find a beautiful distraction on his first day of rehab, but he began to feel the familiar rumblings in his chest and stomach. A nervous excitement that can only be triggered by a beautiful woman.

Seven wheeled himself up to the woman. He sat awkwardly in the wheelchair behind her until she turned around and took notice.

“Hello, you must be Mr. Andrews. My name is Tiffany and I’ll be your physical therapist while you’re here,” she said, exposing a perfect set of brilliantly white teeth.

“Seven.” he replied nervously.

“No, I think we’re scheduled to start at eight.” she said with a confused look on her face.

“No, I’m sorry, my name is Seven, please call me Seven.”

The confused look on Tiffany’s face remained in place, as she had clearly had never met anyone whose formal moniker was also a number. She tilted her head slightly and again produced a beautiful tooth-filled smile.

“Wow, that’s unique. Is that a military thing?”

Seven began his well-rehearsed and practiced dialogue on how he came to be known as a number. He did as he had always done when discussing his surname; he looked down at his right foot. This was the point in the story where he would explain that he was born with two additional toe-like
